The modern hotel industry is increasingly moving beyond being simply “a place to spend the night.” Hotels are evolving into works of art, immersive installations, and stages for futuristic imaginings.

Today, architects are not afraid to bring their boldest fantasies to life, and world-renowned hoteliers give them the freedom and platform for self-expression. We have selected 5 of the most futuristic hotels in the world — places where the future has already arrived.

Shebara Resort

Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, a resort has appeared on the Red Sea, already being called an icon of 21st-century architecture. 73 mirrored villas, like flying saucers above the water, reflect the sky and sea, dissolving into the landscape.

The project was developed by the studio Killa Design, and Shebara has become the first fully energy-independent resort in Saudi Arabia. The villas are located both over the water and on the beach, surrounded by diverse and untouched nature: dense mangrove thickets, rolling sand dunes, turtle-nesting sites, and some of the most pristine coral reefs in the world. The resort has already been included in TIME's World’s Greatest Places 2025 list.

Morpheus

Macau, China

A building by Zaha Hadid Architects — this is not just a hotel, but an architectural sculpture, 154 metres high. Its recognisable steel and glass exoskeleton has become a symbol of futuristic Asia.

The hotel’s scheme is based on a pair of forty-storey apartment towers connected at ground and roof levels. According to its creators, the overall form was inspired by traditional Chinese jade carving.

772 rooms, sky villas, a swimming pool with panoramic views, a fine dining restaurant, a casino, a shopping mall, conference halls, and at the top — VIP gaming areas.

Henn na Hotel

Tokyo, Japan

A Japanese experiment in the future of hospitality: guests are greeted by robot dinosaurs, automated systems also deliver luggage, and rooms are controlled through facial recognition.

The robotic Henn na Hotel opened in 2015. Initially, it was staffed by 186 robots — and the hotel was even entered into the Guinness World Records as the first in the world where almost the entire staff was replaced by machines! Here, there are robot concierges, porters, luggage lockers, and more. But after four years, the hotel owners nevertheless announced their intention to cut the number of machines by more than half. Even so, the hotel has remained super futuristic and highly automated.

ME by Melia

Dubai, UAE

A tower in the centre of Business Bay — a project by Zaha Hadid, which has become a new symbol of futuristic Dubai. From the shape of the building to its interior, this hotel embodies a bold, experimental yet flawless style of the future. The building has a unique form: a glass cube with an uneven hollow in the middle, on the curves of which the light plays. Each panel for this curve was individually made of specially reinforced glass.

ME by Melia is not just a hotel but a living work of art: unexpected curves, sharp angles, bold colours, light-flooded spaces, and ultra-modern technologies. Everything here is created for those who appreciate style and the avant-garde, from the art-filled setting to the panoramic swimming pool overlooking the Burj Khalifa.

Kameha Grand

Zurich, Switzerland

Here, futurism meets playful design fantasy. The hotel is famous for its themed rooms. A space-inspired suite was specially designed for Kameha Grand by German artist Michael Najjar. Guests are welcomed by a female computerised voice inspired by science-fiction films, and the room is full of carefully thought-out details: rocket models, images of astronauts and the Universe, books about space, and live NASA TV broadcasts.

In addition to its exclusive design, the hotel boasts exquisite Italian and Japanese restaurants, a stylish bar and elegant lounges, a superb spa centre and a high-tech conference centre.

Futuristic hotels are not only about comfort. They are about emotions, impressions, and the feeling that you are one step ahead of time.
