"For us Japanese, being happy means, first of all, that at any age and at any time we have something to do and something we enjoy doing."
— Takeshi Kitano
The happiness of a traveller in Japan — for the whole family — is jumping on a high-speed train in the morning, standing in awe before the golden reflection of Kinkaku-ji at noon, and screaming with delight on a rollercoaster in the evening. It’s when ancient temples and digital worlds exist side by side, when samurai armour coexists with robots, and the deer in Nara beg for biscuits, bowing politely in greeting.
You’ll catch Pokémon in a cutting-edge centre, become part of digital art at TeamLab, taste butterbeer in Hogsmeade, and meditate among the thousands of scarlet torii gates at Fushimi Inari. You’ll also experience the magical parades of Disney, anime studios where characters come to life, the neon jungle of Osaka by night, and the mesmerising views of Mount Fuji.
Ten days of pure, concentrated happiness in the Great Land of Islands — with Scenario Travel.

Day 1. Arrival in Tokyo
You’ll arrive at Tokyo International Airport, where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel.
The rest of the day is at your leisure. Feel free to explore the city at your own pace — take a walk along the main streets, sample local cuisine, or simply relax in your room and enjoy the view of the city's urban landscape.
Day 2. Introduction to Tokyo
Japan TeamLab Planets Technology Future Exhibition
The second day of immersion in Japan begins with a vibrant and eventful journey through some of Tokyo’s most dynamic and memorable districts. It’s an ideal day for families with children and for anyone wishing to experience the modern pulse of the city.
The first stop is the famous diagonal crossing in Shibuya, one of the busiest intersections in the world. This iconic location has featured in numerous Hollywood films, including Transformers 3, Lucy, and Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift. The area is renowned for its trendy boutiques, neon lights, and contemporary atmosphere.
Next is a visit to the renowned Pokémon Centre, where you'll find unique souvenirs, collectables, interactive play zones, and the chance to immerse yourself in the world of your favourite characters. It’s a must-visit destination for family travellers.
You’ll then continue to the man-made island of Odaiba, a hub of technology and entertainment set on the shores of Tokyo Bay. Here, futuristic architecture, high-tech museums, and panoramic views of the Rainbow Bridge come together in one extraordinary setting.
One of the highlights is a visit to TeamLab Planets, one of the world's most thrilling digital art museums. This interactive space invites you not just to observe art, but to become part of it. Light, sound, water, and visual illusions create an unforgettable experience for all ages.
Day 3. Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea
Arabian Coast at Tokyo DisneySea, Japan
This day is dedicated to visiting one of the iconic amusement parks of your choice: Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea. Both are located in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, approximately a 40-minute drive from central Tokyo. In the morning, you will be collected from your hotel by a private transfer and returned in the evening.
Tokyo Disneyland was the first Disney park built outside the United States, and since its opening in 1983, it has remained a classic of its kind. At its heart stands Cinderella’s Castle — a symbol of childhood dreams. There are seven themed lands to explore: Critter Country, Westernland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Toontown, Tomorrowland and World Bazaar. Daily parades featuring Disney characters bring colour and magic to the park, creating a fairytale atmosphere.
DisneySea, meanwhile, appeals more to adults with its immersive locations inspired by Venice, early 20th-century New York, and mysterious islands. Thrill-seekers will enjoy rides such as the Tower of Terror and Journey to the Centre of the Earth, while gourmet restaurants offer creative cuisine. However, children will also find plenty to enjoy — from exploring the underwater kingdom of The Little Mermaid and venturing into the magical world of Aladdin, to riding various family-friendly attractions.
Day 4. Hakone and Fuji-Q Highland Visit (optional)
Mount Fuji, Japan, Lake Ashi view in Hakone
The fourth day of the tour is dedicated to exploring Japan's natural and cultural side — leaving the metropolis behind, you’ll head to the Hakone region. This scenic area in Kanagawa Prefecture, just a two-hour drive from Tokyo, is known for its hot springs, panoramic views of Mount Fuji, and traditional Japanese atmosphere.
Hakone is one of the best destinations for those wishing to experience a different side of Japan — calm and unhurried. Enjoy views of Mount Fuji (weather permitting), take a boat cruise on Lake Ashi, and ride the cable car to the Owakudani Valley — a striking geothermal area with active sulphur springs and unforgettable scenery.
For those who prefer more dynamic entertainment, an alternative route is a visit to Fuji-Q Highland amusement park. Located at the foot of Mount Fuji, it is considered one of Japan’s most extreme theme parks. It features several record-breaking roller coasters, including Eejanaika with rotating seats and Fujiyama, which was once the world’s tallest. The park is also known for its themed zones, including horror mazes and an area based on the Japanese manga Attack on Titan.
Day 5. Tokyo — Kyoto
Tokyo, Japan skyline on the Sumida River.
The fifth day begins with an immersion into the atmosphere of old Tokyo.
Start by exploring the Asakusa district, one of the few areas that still preserves the spirit of the ancient Edo period. Its main attraction is Sensō-ji, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple, founded in the 7th century. In front of the temple stretches Nakamise Street — a historic shopping arcade where you can sample traditional Japanese sweets, purchase souvenirs, and experience the rhythm of old city life.
The next stop is the Tokyo Skytree, the second-tallest tower in the world. Its observation deck, located 450 metres above the ground, offers a panoramic view of the entire metropolis — and on clear days, even Mount Fuji can be seen. The tower also houses a shopping complex and an aquarium.
After sightseeing, travel by high-speed Shinkansen train from Tokyo to Kyoto.

Day 6. The Art of Kyoto
Empty helmet atop authentic samurai armor
On day six, explore Kyoto — a city that served as Japan’s imperial capital for over a thousand years. Today’s programme brings together two defining aspects of Japanese identity: the martial heritage of the samurai and the phenomenon of anime culture.
The first stop is the Samurai Museum in Kyoto, where visitors can view authentic armour, swords, and weapons from various historical periods. The interactive section of the visit includes dressing in traditional armour, basic fencing training, and a photo session in full costume.
Next, visit a unique venue, Toei Kyoto Studio Park, that blends a functioning film studio with a theme park. Historical dramas, action films, and anime scenes are filmed here. Stroll through Edo-period sets, observe live filming, participate in animation workshops, and meet beloved characters.
Day 7. Kyoto and Nara
Kyoto, Japan at Kinkaku-ji, The Temple of the Golden Pavilion at dusk.
The day is dedicated to Japan's two most important historical centres — Kyoto and Nara.
The first stop is the golden Kinkaku-ji Pavilion, one of Kyoto's most famous temples. It was built in the late 14th century as the shogun's residence and later converted into a Buddhist temple. The top two floors are covered in gold leaf and reflected in the pond's calm waters, creating an impressive visual effect. This site is rightfully considered one of Japan's most beautiful and photographed.
Next, you will visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine — an iconic Japanese location known worldwide for its endless alleys of scarlet torii gates. This is the main temple of the goddess Inari, the patroness of rice and prosperity, where pilgrims and tourists have been flocking since the 8th century. You’ll walk along a trail of over 10,000 gates, winding up the sacred mountain. Interestingly, all the torii gates are donations from companies and individuals, and the cost of one starts at 400,000 yen.
The next destination is the city of Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan. The main attraction here is the Todaiji Temple, which houses a giant bronze statue of the Buddha. The complex is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered the largest wooden structure in the world. Nearby is Nara Park, where tame deer roam freely, delighting children.
In the evening, you will return to Kyoto.
Day 8. Kyoto — Osaka
Osaka Castle in Autumn, Osaka, Japan.
After breakfast, you will have some free time to explore Kyoto.
Then, you will head to Osaka, the third-largest city in Japan, known as the business capital of the western part of the country. Here, you will enjoy a city tour: you will visit Osaka Castle, rebuilt in the 20th century but still retaining the spirit of the samurai era, and take a stroll through the Dotonbori district, where street food, bright neon signs, and vibrant nightlife come together.
After the tour, check in at your hotel in Osaka.
Day 9. Universal Studios Japan
Hogwarts at Universal Studios Japan
On this day, Universal Studios Japan awaits you. It is a place where adults become children again and children enter the world of their favourite characters. The park boasts 11 themed zones.
One of the park's main attractions is the area dedicated to the wizarding world of Harry Potter. You can stroll through the streets of Hogsmeade, visit Ollivander's wand shop, and peek into Hogwarts itself. And most importantly, ride on the interactive attraction "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey", which will take you on an exciting flight on a broomstick through famous scenes from the books and films.
You will also have the chance to enter Super Nintendo World, the world of Mario and Luigi, complete with interactive games and a Mario Kart-style race. Hollywood Dream — The Ride is a spectacular roller coaster where you can choose the soundtrack of the ride. In Jurassic Park, you will go rafting among dinosaurs, and the WaterWorld show will surprise you with stunts, explosions, and stuntmen. For children, there is the fun Minion Park with rides and photo zones, and a cosy corner of Sesame Street.
After a busy day, you can relax in a cosy café or restaurant within the park and try themed dishes — from butterbeer in Hogsmeade to mushroom ramen in the world of Nintendo.
In the evening, you will return to your hotel in Osaka.
Day 10. Farewell to Japan
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Osaka International Airport for your departure from Japan.
